Chelsea and PSG Team News Ahead of Sunday’s Final
Chelsea have received a timely boost for Sunday’s final, with Moises Caicedo shaking off an ankle issue to return to full training. However, head coach Enzo Maresca still faces selection headaches elsewhere in his high-profile squad.
Both Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia remain sidelined due to muscle injuries, while Benoit Badiashile is a doubt for the clash. Noni Madueke is also unlikely to feature, as transfer discussions with Arsenal continue to gather pace. Meanwhile, recent signings Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Estevao are unavailable for selection.
On the positive side, Maresca can once again call on Levi Colwill and Liam Delap, who are back from suspension after missing the semi-final. Delap’s return provides additional competition in attack, though Joao Pedro remains the frontrunner to lead the line after netting a brace on his full debut.
PSG, in contrast, could approach the final with an almost clean bill of health. Head coach Luis Enrique is still without defenders Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez, who are suspended following red cards in the quarter-finals.
Lucas Beraldo is set to continue alongside veteran captain Marquinhos in central defence, and the rest of the starting XI could remain unchanged for the showdown at MetLife Stadium.
All eyes will be on Ballon d’Or hopeful Ousmane Dembele, who finally made his first start of the tournament against Real Madrid after earlier injury setbacks. He’s expected to spearhead PSG’s familiar attacking trio as they chase silverware.
